Role Description The DevOps Engineer contract role is a hybrid position based in Pinellas Park, FL, with the ability to work partially from home. In this role, the DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure to support AI-driven applications and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing CI pipelines, automating deployment processes, monitoring system performance, and ensuring reliability and security across environments. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with software development, data, and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve release cycles, and enhance system observability. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, optimizing resource usage, and contributing to infrastructure as code practices to maintain consistent, reproducible environments.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools).
- Candidates should possess Software Development experience in scripting or programming languages commonly used in DevOps (such as Python, Go, or Bash).
- Candidates should possess Continuous Integration skills, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Candidates should possess System Administration experience, including managing servers, networking basics, and security best practices.
- Candidates should possess Linux proficiency, including command-line operations, shell scripting, and performance tuning in production environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and incident response practices is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment are essential.
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering is expected; industry certifications are a plus.
