Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS) (6m contract)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to help architect, build, and deliver secure, scalable cloud environments for large enterprise organizations. This is a highly technical, hands-on consulting role where you'll work closely with customers and delivery teams to implement cloud platforms, automation, and infrastructure solutions that enable modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise cloud landing zones following security, governance, and operational best practices.
- Develop scalable multi-account cloud environments with standardized networking, identity, and security controls.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using modern automation frameworks.
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
- Create reusable infrastructure modules and establish standards for configuration management, state management, and lifecycle automation.
- Implement cloud governance, access controls, compliance policies, and cost optimization strategies.
- Design and support container platforms and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Develop networking solutions for secure connectivity across cloud environments.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to improve platform reliability and operational visibility.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and customer stakeholders to deliver cloud transformation initiatives.
- Mentor technical team members and contribute to platform engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologies.
- Experience building automated CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container-based platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, identity management, security, and governance principles.
- Experience designing scalable, secure enterprise cloud environments.
- Strong scripting or automation skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications are a plus.
- Experience working with additional public cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of GitOps workflows and modern deployment methodologies.
- Experience with cloud database migration projects.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging platforms.
- Experience integrating security and compliance tooling into DevSecOps pipelines.
- Experience supporting large enterprise modernization or cloud transformation initiatives.
