Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Kubernetes / DevOps Engineer at IMESH. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes-based infrastructure to support service mesh, cloud networking, and observability solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and managing CI pipelines, automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient deployments across multiple clusters. The engineer will collaborate closely with Platform, SRE, and Development teams to troubleshoot performance and networking issues, optimize resource usage, and support customer environments. Additional tasks include monitoring system health, improving operational processes, contributing to documentation and runbooks, and participating in on-call or incident response rotations as needed.
Requirements
- 0-1year of experience
- Strong system administration and Linux skills, including managing production-grade servers and containers.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals, including Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, Namespaces, Workloads, and networking concepts.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals across Layer 3 (L3), Layer 4 (L4), and Layer 7 (L7), including routing, load balancing, service discovery, and traffic management.
- Hands-on knowledge of TLS/SSL, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Certificate Authorities (CA), and cert-manager, including certificate issuance, rotation, and renewal.
- Familiarity with Linux, Docker, containerized applications, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Understanding of cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes networking, service mesh, API gateways, or observability tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot production environments.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn new cloud-native technologies, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment.
