Robert Half is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a software company based in Portland, OR. This cloud engineer will support day to day operations alongside their Cloud Architect and assist with upcoming projects. Location: (Hybrid, 4 days onsite/1 day remote ) in Portland
Duration: 6 months with potential for extension/conversion
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud solutions that meet scalability, performance, security, and reliability requirements.
- Promote best practices across cloud architecture, infrastructure management, security, and operational processes.
- Drive improvements through automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Develop and enhance cloud standards, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements that increase efficiency, security, and platform maturity.
- Support cloud infrastructure troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into cloud-based solutions.
Key experience includes:
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Ubuntu Linux environments, including system maintenance, patching, and performance optimization.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure within Azure or AWS, including resource provisioning, monitoring, security, and operational support.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services and cloud engineering best practices within a multi-cloud environment.
- Experience using Terraform to automate infrastructure deployments and maintain scalable, repeatable environment configurations.
- Experience supporting Nutanix environments and participating in infrastructure migration and modernization initiatives.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation while driving process improvements and operational best practices.
