What will you do?
The Cloud and DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, automating and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that support the delivery of web and mobile applications. Working closely with development teams, Tech Leads and Project Managers, the role provisions and manages AWS environments, streamlines build/test/release workflows, enforces infrastructure security and compliance standards, and drives automation and continuous improvement across deployment, monitoring and incident response. The role ensures that solutions are deployed reliably, securely and efficiently, meeting client and public-sector compliance expectations.
- Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) for automated build, test and deployment across environments.
- Provision, configure and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFront) using infrastructure-as-code.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
- Manage containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) for application workloads.
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) to ensure system availability and performance.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines, including IAM policies, secrets management, patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Support release management activities, coordinating deployments and rollbacks with development and project teams.
- Manage and optimize cloud costs, environments and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment and environment issues across development, staging and production.
- Document infrastructure architecture, pipeline configurations, operational procedures and runbooks.
- Support compliance with public-sector security requirements and participate in security audits and reviews
Requirements
Domain Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, networking, IAM, databases).
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline).
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes or Amazon ECS/EKS).
- Scripting proficiency (Bash, Python or similar) for automation.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Solid understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing and security concepts in cloud environments.
- Proficient with version control systems, particularly Git and branching strategies.
- Familiarity with deploying and supporting web and mobile application stacks (e.g., Node.js, ReactJS) is advantageous
Education and Certification
Compulsory (Must-have):
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
Desirable (Good-to-have):
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Certification in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or Terraform
Role Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on DevOps / cloud infrastructure experience, primarily on AWS.
- Proven experience implementing and operating CI/CD pipelines in a team delivery environment.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and container-based deployments.
