Senior Cloud Engineer | Location: Remote | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $95-$108
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering Services team. This role focuses on cloud migration, infrastructure deployment, and automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within AWS environments. The position requires collaboration with development teams to promote cloud adoption, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and ensure operational reliability in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and deploy infrastructure as code pipelines utilizing Terraform and GitLab, adhering to best practices.
- Support multi-account and multi-region AWS deployments, including blue/green deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with application development teams to provide guidance and mentorship on cloud adoption and infrastructure best practices.
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for cloud infrastructure, workflows, and deployment processes.
- Integrate cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services to create scalable, resilient, and secure architectures.
- Enhance CI/CD processes through automation, automated testing, and pipeline optimization.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure the operational reliability of deployed cloud solutions.
- Drive the adoption of cloud-native services, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code patterns across teams.
- Support cloud migration initiatives from on-premises data centers to AWS environments.
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Terraform with extensive IaC deployment experience.
- Strong AWS infrastructure experience, including multi-account and multi-region environments.
- Experience engineering CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and mentor within Agile teams.
- Cloud migration experience, including transitioning applications from on-premises to AWS.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of broad technical experience in IT, including software design, development, and cloud architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certification (Developer or Solutions Architect).
- Experience with containerization and image building (Docker, ECS).
- Exposure to Golang and AWS Lambda.
- Knowledge of multi-cloud architectures and cloud cost optimization (FinOps).
- Familiarity with DevOps best practices, automated deployments, and IaC pipelines.
- Background in container orchestration platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift is a plus.
