Role Description

This remote Site Reliability Engineer role is a contract position focused on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of production systems. The Site Reliability Engineer will monitor system health, respond to incidents, and drive root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues. The role involves collaborating with software development and operations teams to design resilient architectures, automate deployments, and optimize infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining and improving observability tools, refining incident response processes, and implementing best practices for system administration and infrastructure management. The engineer will also contribute to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall service quality.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Site Reliability Engineering skills, including experience with reliability principles, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex production issues and perform effective root-cause analysis.
Candidates should possess Software Development skills, such as scripting or coding in languages commonly used for automation and tooling (e.g., Python, Go, or similar).
Candidates should possess System Administration skills, including managing Linux or Unix-based environments and handling configuration, patching, and security basics.
Candidates should possess Infrastructure skills, including working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
Relevant qualifications include experience in DevOps or SRE roles, familiarity with observability stacks (logs, metrics, traces), and knowledge of networking fundamentals.
Additional beneficial qualifications include strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate across distributed teams, and prior experience in consulting or client-facing environments.
