Role Description This full-time AWS Cloud Engineer role is an on-site position based in Huntsville, AL. The AWS Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and managing Linux-based systems, setting up and optimizing databases, and collaborating with development teams to support application deployment and integration. The role involves monitoring performance, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, applying best practices for cloud architecture, and contributing to automation and Infrastructure as Code. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support business requirements, improve operational efficiency, and enhance overall cloud capabilities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Cloud Computing, with hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS environments.
- Practical knowledge of Infrastructure management, including networking, security configurations, and system administration.
- Experience with Linux operating systems, including configuration, scripting, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency working with Databases, such as relational or NoSQL systems, including design, optimization, and maintenance.
- Exposure to Software Development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools to support application deployment in the cloud.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
