Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Cloud Engineer with a strong interest in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing cloud solutions, monitoring system performance, and supporting cloud operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with internship or project experience who are eager to build their careers in cloud computing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Monitor cloud resources, system performance, and application availability.
- Support the implementation of cloud security best practices and identity/access management.
- Assist in automating infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Collaborate with DevOps, software development, and IT teams to support cloud-based applications.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and assist in resolving system incidents.
- Configure and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and cloud services.
- Participate in cloud migration, backup, disaster recovery, and system optimization initiatives.
- Document cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies, services, and industry best practices.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation is a plus).
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Basic understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and compliance best practices.
- Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), or Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Internship, academic projects, or hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure or cloud-native applications.
