Company Description Twin-1 AI is building the context and privacy layer for enterprise AI, in the product form of digital twins for knowledge workers.
Role Description The Core Infrastructure Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This engineer will build and maintain the infrastructure that powers Twin-1 AI’s context and privacy layer across cloud-hosted, customer-managed, and on-premises environments.
The role combines deep infrastructure engineering with product ownership and customer collaboration. You will work directly with enterprise clients and their security, IT, and infrastructure teams to plan, deploy, validate, and support Twin-1 AI in complex on-premises and private-cloud environments. This requires strong communication skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to translate customer requirements and constraints into secure, reliable deployment solutions.
You will also establish a “code-as-product” delivery approach for the engineering team, ensuring that Twin-1 can be distributed and operated as a well-defined, versioned product—not simply as a hosted codebase. This includes developing repeatable build and release processes, deployment artifacts, configuration standards, upgrade and rollback paths, documentation, compatibility guarantees, and operational tooling.
In addition, you will lead efforts to package and distribute Twin-1 through cloud marketplaces such as Microsoft Azure Marketplace and Google Cloud Marketplace. You will navigate the technical requirements, security reviews, deployment models, and certification processes needed to deliver a production-ready marketplace offering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure for high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Build repeatable deployment patterns for SaaS, private-cloud, and on-premises environments.
- Work closely with enterprise customers throughout deployment, integration, security review, troubleshooting, and production readiness.
- Partner with customer IT, networking, security, and platform teams to understand environmental constraints and develop appropriate solutions.
- Establish a code-as-product delivery model with versioned releases, reproducible builds, deployment packages, documentation, and defined upgrade and rollback procedures.
- Package and certify Twin-1 for distribution through Azure Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace, and potentially other cloud platforms.
- Improve CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, observability, and incident response.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, security, and application integration issues.
- Support infrastructure security, capacity planning, scalability, and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Collaborate with product and software engineering teams to ensure that deployment and operability requirements are reflected in system design.
- Turn lessons from customer deployments into reusable platform capabilities, tooling, and product improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining distributed systems and cloud infrastructure on platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Experience with containerized systems and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience deploying software into enterprise on-premises, private-cloud, hybrid-cloud, or restricted-network environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing complex infrastructure, networking, configuration, and application integration issues.
- Proficiency in core networking concepts, including IP networking, DNS, routing, switching, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, and modern networking stacks.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, secrets management, encryption, and data privacy.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD systems, release automation, and reproducible deployment processes.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and other observability practices.
- Ability to treat infrastructure and deployment tooling as customer-facing products, with attention to usability, versioning, documentation, compatibility, and lifecycle management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with customers and explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, balance customer-specific needs with reusable platform design, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with cloud marketplace packaging, enterprise security reviews, air-gapped deployments, compliance frameworks, or infrastructure/platform/SRE roles is highly beneficial.
