Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Solution Architect – DevOps / Kubernetes Platform to lead the modernization of our infrastructure and application deployment ecosystem.
The role will focus on migrating services from standalone containers to a production-grade Kubernetes platform, while establishing standardized automation, infrastructure, observability, and deployment practices.
You will work closely with engineering and service owners to create a “Golden Path” that enables reliable, repeatable, and self-service application deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of persistent data services and ephemeral applications from standalone containers to Kubernetes.
- Design and implement scalable Kubernetes platform architecture across on-premises/virtualized infrastructure.
- Drive infrastructure and configuration automation using Ansible as the primary automation framework.
- Develop and maintain standardized Helm charts and deployment templates.
- Design and implement GitOps-based CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
- Define and maintain infrastructure state using Infrastructure-as-Code practices; Terraform knowledge is an advantage.
- Troubleshoot complex Linux OS, networking, storage, and containerization issues using advanced CLI tools.
- Design and manage Kubernetes components including networking, storage classes, workloads, scheduling, security, and lifecycle management.
- Build and maintain centralized monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Establish platform standards, best practices, and reusable automation frameworks.
- Work directly with developers and service owners to assess applications and define their Kubernetes migration strategy.
- Identify platform bottlenecks and continuously improve reliability, scalability, security, and deployment efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across DevOps and platform engineering initiatives.
Required Technical Skills
- 9 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Solution Architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes primitives including:
- Networking
- Services & Ingress
- Storage Classes & Persistent Volumes
- ConfigMaps & Secrets
- Deployments, StatefulSets & DaemonSets
- Scheduling & lifecycle management
- Strong expertise in Linux administration and troubleshooting, particularly on bare-metal or on-premises environments.
- Expert-level Linux CLI / shell skills.
- Extensive experience with Ansible and configuration management.
- Strong knowledge of Docker / containerization and container migration.
- Hands-on experience with Helm and Kubernetes deployment standardization.
- Experience implementing GitOps practices and pipelines.
- Knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability platforms.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, OS-level troubleshooting, and infrastructure architecture.
Solution Architecture Expectations
- Ability to translate application requirements into scalable and production-ready platform designs.
- Strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure architecture and Kubernetes platform design.
- Ability to define migration patterns for both stateful and stateless workloads.
- Experience creating technical standards, reference architectures, and reusable platform components.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs around performance, availability, security, scalability, and operational complexity.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset with a hands-on engineering approach.
