Position Overview
The State of South Carolina is seeking a Senior Palo Alto Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and secure large-scale AWS and Azure cloud environments. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a developer position, requiring strong expertise with Palo Alto cloud firewalls and cloud security architecture.
Candidate Requirements
- 10+ years of network security and engineering experience.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM-Series in AWS and Azure.
- Strong experience with Panorama, security policies, threat prevention, and log analysis.
- Experience architecting Zero Trust security solutions using Palo Alto.
- 5+ years experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM.
- Experience designing and maintaining AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Must hold Palo Alto, AWS, or Azure certification.
- College degree or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
- Strong communication, consulting, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure, highly available AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls in AWS and Azure.
- Deploy and manage F5 BIG-IP LTM/ASM.
- Implement Zero Trust cloud security solutions.
- Troubleshoot development, test, and production environments.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and auditing aligned with security/compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Application, Network, Security, and Delivery teams.
Location Requirement
Candidate must currently reside in NC, GA, or SC and be willing to relocate to South Carolina at their own expense before starting. South Carolina local candidates are preferred.
