Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to lead our cloud infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and platform reliability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in
Microsoft Azure, DevOps practices, and modern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) approaches, as well as the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. You will work closely with development, QA, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery of applications and services in a
secure, scalable, and highly available manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead engineer on large or complex client deployment/migration projects.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for multiple applications and services.
- Manage and automate cloud infrastructure using tools such as ARM Templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Administer the Azure DevOps platform, including Repositories, Pipelines, Build Agents, Service Connections, Permissions, Boards, Test Plans, and Artifacts.
- Collaborate with software development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and release processes.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions leveraging Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or equivalent tools.
- Drive DevSecOps best practices, embedding security checks into pipelines and automating compliance validation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot build, release, and deployment issues proactively.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work to improve scalability, reliability, and performance of applications and cloud environments.
- Ensure clients and partners are updated on the current status of work and issues.
- Raise, investigate, and resolve problems and known errors in line with the problem management process.
- Proactively improve ways of working, automation, and processes through the continual improvement Kanban board.
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide 24x7 4th-line support for EvolTech’s Azure clients.
- Proactively keep up to date with Azure services and developments.
- Buddy new members of the team and train other teams.
- Act as team leader and technical escalation point in the Manager's absence.
Skills And Experience
- 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, with at least 4+ years of extensive experience working with Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps, including Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Test Plans, and Artifacts.
- Strong proficiency in scripting using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
- Experience with containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity management.
- Experience with deployment strategies including Blue/Green and Canary deployments.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including Azure Monitor, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent technologies.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and manage DevOps projects end-to-end.
- Hold a number of current Azure Associate and Professional-level certifications.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable and auto-scaled environments using automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Scripting ability in one or more of Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline technologies.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
- A degree in a computing-related discipline preferred, or equivalent ability and knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in an ITIL environment is beneficial.

Additional Migration Requirements
Essential skills and hands-on experience are required for this role.
Candidates should have strong hands-on expertise in
Azure cloud infrastructure, Terraform, and CI/CD technologies, with experience in
Azure DevOps and/or Harness CI/CD preferred. Strong knowledge of troubleshooting
operating systems and applications is also required.
Additionally, Candidates Should Have Hands-on Experience With
- HashiCorp Vault for secrets management and secure application/infrastructure configuration.
- Kafka, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- ForgeRock and Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management.
- Application deployment on Azure and supporting application workloads in cloud environments.
- Docker and containerized application environments.
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) / Kubernetes, including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Infrastructure automation and configuration management using Terraform and related tools.
- Troubleshooting across both operating system and application layers.
- Supporting complex cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
Migration Capability

comprehensive technical skill set to facilitate successful migration initiatives. The successful candidate should be a strong
Azure DevOps Engineer with a solid operating-system and application support background, capable of handling infrastructure automation, CI/CD, application deployment, troubleshooting, security, containerization, and migration-related workloads effectively.
The candidate should be comfortable working across
Azure infrastructure, operating systems, applications, DevOps tooling, security, identity, containers, and automation, while collaborating with development, infrastructure, security, QA, and migration teams. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to
take ownership of complex migration activities, troubleshoot issues through to resolution, implement scalable and supportable solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement throughout the migration lifecycle.
