Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant – Engineering Lead, AWS Migration & Modernization to lead large-scale AWS migration and modernization initiatives for enterprise applications within a Banking and Financial Services environment.
This role will provide technical leadership across cloud migration programs, hands-on, guiding application teams migrate and modernize legacy on-premises systems to AWS while improving scalability, resiliency, security, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will have deep hands-on AWS engineering experience, automation first mindset, strong architecture expertise, and a proven track record leading complex cloud transformation programs within large, global financial institutions.
This individual will work closely with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, platform, risk, and application development teams to remove technical roadblocks and accelerate cloud adoption.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of hands-on AWS architecture, engineering, and cloud migration experience.
- Proven experience leading large-scale AWS migration and modernization programs for enterprise applications.
- Deep understanding of AWS 7Rs migration framework with hands-on experience on Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Relocate).
- Extensive experience designing hybrid cloud and multi-region AWS architectures.
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, security, resiliency, and cloud infrastructure services.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and cloud automation.
- Experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Technology Risk, and Application Development.
Banking & Financial Services Experience
- 7+ years of experience delivering technology solutions within Banking, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Asset & Wealth Management, or Financial Services organizations.
- Experience delivering cloud transformation initiatives in highly regulated environments with strong security, compliance, audit, and operational risk requirements.
- Understanding of enterprise governance processes including Architecture Review Boards, Technology Risk, Information Security, Change Management, and Regulatory Compliance.
- Experience working with mission-critical, high-availability trading, banking, payments, risk, or financial platforms is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting cloud adoption in organizations with stringent resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational resilience requirements.
