The Senior Azure Engineer will design, implement, secure, automate, and support enterprise cloud environments built on Microsoft Azure. This role provides technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, security, governance, automation, and platform services while partnering with application, security, networking, and business teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Azure landing zones and enterprise cloud architectures.
- Build and support Azure infrastructure, including VNets, Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and improve Azure platform performance, availability, and reliability.
- Lead cloud infrastructure incident response and root cause analysis.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Apply Zero Trust and Azure security best practices, including Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Privileged Access, Azure Policy, Conditional Access, Key Vault, and Defender for Cloud.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates, with automation through PowerShell and Azure CLI.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Design and support hybrid cloud networking, including hub-and-spoke architectures, ExpressRoute, VPN, Private Endpoints, Azure Firewall, DNS, and Load Balancers.
- Establish and maintain cloud governance standards across Management Groups, subscription strategy, tagging, resource governance, and cost management.
- Drive cloud cost optimization and provide Azure consumption and cost reporting.
- Ensure cloud environments meet HIPAA, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as an Azure subject matter expert, mentor engineers and administrators, and contribute to cloud strategy, architecture reviews, standards, documentation, and roadmaps.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure environments and hybrid on-premises/cloud infrastructure.
