Salary: $150,000-$250,000 + Bonus

The role:
My client, an established Trading firm are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the team.
This position can be performed remotely from anywhere in the US, with occasional travel required to the Chicago office. Alternatively, the role can be based out of Chicago on a traditional hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Engineering around AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud and a smaller portion of on-premises work
- Designing, building and maintaining cloud environments
- Cloud security, policies, guardrails and identity management
- Serving as the escalation point for complex production issues
- Automating where possible with an automation first mindset
- Cloud connectivity work, including transit architecture and on-prem connectivity
- Building and improving Observability and Monitoring platforms and tools
- Being mindful of cost management and it’s implications
- Cloud evangelism, looking at new technologies and proof of concepts
Skills Required:
- Strong experience working in Cloud environments with an emphasis on AWS, experience around Azure, GCP, AliCloud highly desirable
- Experience with IaC and Automation – Terraform, Ansible, Python, API’s, CI/CD, GitOps
- Strong knowledge of Cloud networking including VPC’s, Routing, DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancing and interconnectivity
- Understanding Cloud security, incorporating IAM, encryption management, secrets management, and least privilege
- Cloud Observability, Monitoring and Alerting
- Understanding of Cloud cost models
- Prior experience working within Trading or Financial Services environments is highly desirable
