Key Responsibilities:
Automation and Orchestration:
- Develop and maintain an automated pipeline for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes or similar.
System Optimization and Support:
- Optimize existing systems for scalability and build new, resilient systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-based and in-house systems.
- Collaboration and Project Management:
- Work closely with the development team to integrate new deployment processes and strategies.
- Coordinate with IT staff about infrastructure and software requirements.
Monitoring and Security:
- Implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and proactive identification of issues.
- Ensure system security through best practices, and actively participate in security audits.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with new technologies and propose improvements to our development and deployment processes.
- Document and refine development, test, and production environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and other container management solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of cloud architecture.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix Administration.
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
- Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
