We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support the SEC ISS contract by designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on Azure cloud engineering, hybrid infrastructure, automation, cloud modernization, security, and DevSecOps practices while supporting enterprise applications and services in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure, with AWS support as needed
- Build and maintain cloud networking, storage, compute, virtualization, and containerized environments
- Ensure scalability, resiliency, and high availability through capacity planning and performance optimization
- Support cloud operations, incident management, and service reliability initiatives
- Implement cloud security controls aligned with zero-trust principles and SEC security requirements
- Manage identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and Conditional Access
- Drive patch management, vulnerability remediation, and secure configuration practices
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using PowerShell, Bicep, ARM Templates, and Terraform
- Integrate infrastructure deployments with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows
- Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives from on-premises environments to Azure and hybrid architectures
- Optimize cloud cost, performance, and operational efficiency
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, SOPs, and operational standards
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience
- 5+ years of Azure cloud engineering experience
- Experience designing and managing secure, highly available enterprise cloud environments
- Experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives
- Strong Azure expertise including Virtual Machines, Scale Sets, Containers, Kubernetes, and Cloud Services
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, storage, app services, virtualization, and containerization
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, and PowerShell
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
- Knowledge of Azure Policy, RBAC, Conditional Access, Managed Identities, and cloud governance
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and zero-trust security principles
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Repos, Pipelines, and Boards
- Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud architecture patterns
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification
- Experience supporting federal environments with FISMA and FedRAMP compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native container platforms
- Experience integrating observability and ITSM platforms
- Experience implementing immutable infrastructure and policy-as-code practices
- Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and FinOps methodologies
