We are recruiting a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer for a Canadian technology opportunity.
We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with 7+ years of overall IT experience and strong hands-on experience across DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation, and site reliability.
About the Role
In this role, you will design, implement, automate, and maintain scalable cloud and platform infrastructure. You will work closely with software engineering, security, data, and technology teams to improve deployment processes, platform capabilities, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
You will also contribute to technical architecture, production operations, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement. The role includes mentoring engineers and helping establish reliable engineering practices across cloud and platform environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Build and manage cloud platforms using infrastructure as code.
- Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized workloads.
- Develop automation using Terraform, scripting, and other DevOps tools.
- Improve system reliability, availability, scalability, and performance.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
- Support production environments and participate in incident investigation and resolution.
- Collaborate with software engineering, security, data engineering, and architecture teams.
- Improve developer experience through automation, self-service platforms, and standardized deployment processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency, security, reliability, and operational processes.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of overall IT experience, preferably in a similar DevOps role.
- Strong experience with DevOps practices, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized workloads.
- Experience with Terraform, scripting, infrastructure as code, and automation tools.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
- A passion for continuous learning in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
