About the Role
I'm partnering with an innovative technology-driven organization seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to help advance and support a growing cloud infrastructure environment. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in modernizing enterprise systems, improving cloud reliability, strengthening security, and driving infrastructure automation initiatives.
You'll join a collaborative engineering team supporting mission-critical platforms and applications while helping guide ongoing cloud transformation efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on engineering, cloud architecture, automation, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based infrastructure across multiple environments
- Build and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions to improve consistency, automation, and governance
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines that accelerate software delivery and operational efficiency
- Implement security controls, identity management strategies, encryption standards, and cloud governance practices
- Monitor cloud environments and proactively optimize performance, availability, reliability, and cost
- Support infrastructure modernization projects, including migration of legacy workloads to cloud platforms
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and application issues across distributed systems
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks
- Collaborate with software developers, data teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable solutions
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure within AWS environments
- Hands-on experience with services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, or comparable technologies
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar tools
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, access management, encryption, compliance, and vulnerability remediation
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools
- Proficiency with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Experience supporting containerized workloads utilizing Docker and cloud container services
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, VPNs, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
- Experience working in Agile environments with Git-based source control workflows
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, Security Specialty, or Advanced Networking
- Experience with Kubernetes or cloud-native orchestration platforms
- Background supporting large-scale cloud migration initiatives
- Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization strategies
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance management platforms
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001
