About the Role:
As an DevOps Engineer, you will focus on automating and supporting application deployment processes.
This is a transformation role, as we are on the journey towards DevOps best practice and the final result will be a fully automated CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure as code.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, configure, and manage Jenkins servers
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for various projects.
Set up, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in various environments (on-premises, cloud, or hybrid).
Develop and manage YAML configuration files for Kubernetes objects like Pods, Services, Deployments, StatefulSets, and ConfigMaps.
Managing and optimizing the use of Docker containers for developing, deploying, and scaling applications.
Deploy and manage Docker Swarm clusters, including node management, service scaling, and fault tolerance.
TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE, YOU SHOULD HAVE:
2+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Implemented automated testing and code quality checks in pipelines.
Troubleshoot build failures and issues within the Jenkins environment.
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to understand requirements and improve CI/CD processes.
Continuously improve CI/CD processes by adopting new tools and technologies.
Automate application deployment using Helm charts, Kubernetes Operators, or custom scripts.
Containerize applications by creating Docker images from application code and dependencies.
Push, pull, and manage Docker images in container registries e.g. JFrog
- Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is often required.
Relevant Certifications: Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer, Docker Certified Associate, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) can enhance eligibility.
Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
Knowledge of Scripting and Programming languages like bash and basic knowledge in Java
- Certifications (Optional but Preferred)
DevOps Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Professional DevOps Engineer.
Containerization Certifications: Docker Certified Associate or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
Automation and Configuration Management: Certifications in Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
