Roles and Responsibilities:
Director:
- Exhibit Lean Management behaviors and help teams adopt agile processes such as Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming.
- Support teams in implementing agile rules, build in quality, and limit work in progress.
- Facilitate continuous improvement in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
- Enable cadence and synchronization across multiple teams, integrating backlogs and solutions.
- Collaborate with product management to maintain and groom the backlog.
- Organize and accelerate related product engineering activities, resolving blockers and driving progress.
- Create mechanisms for reporting and controlling execution, improving delivery paths for complex projects.
- Maintain transparent backlogs and provide visual status updates.
- Understand business strategy and design approaches, represent team services effectively.
- Stay updated with technology trends and evaluate design strengths and weaknesses.
- Work with ambiguity to initiate and guide agile ceremonies for predictable delivery.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and external technology providers.
- Understand the needs of engineers and technical operations teams.
- Regularly review metrics for alignment with organizational objectives.
- Mentor and recruit others.
Lead:
- Enable global teams to mature in Lean product management, Lean management, and DevOps practices.
- Facilitate and coach team retrospectives, improving team performance and responsibility.
- Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices.
- Maintain the definition of done and synchronize cadences across domain teams.
- Lead the implementation of practices and learnings from active participation in guilds.
- Collaborate with product management to maintain a healthy backlog.
- Define and organize work, analyze data, drive performance improvements, and influence resource allocation.
- Operate independently, manage escalations, and create urgency for delivery.
- Understand business strategy and design approaches, representing team services effectively.
- Manage portfolios, align teams and technologies, and build consensus.
- Communicate complex issues clearly and drive discussions with stakeholders.
- Simplify complex architectures to enable speed of delivery and seek technical guidance as needed.
- Decompose complex processes into straightforward solutions and educate the engineering community on best practices.
- Work with external technology providers to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Influence and contribute to external backlogs and goal-setting exercises.
- Share knowledge within the organization and present at events.
- Mentor and recruit others.
Skills Required:
- Expert in agile delivery using Lean Product Management, Lean Management, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to run and manage agile processes, including grooming, planning, prioritization, and retrospectives.
- Anticipate and address bottlenecks, risks, and dependencies.
- Define and drive success metrics, resolve discordant views, and improve project delivery.
- Experienced in modern SDLC practices (Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery, DevOps) and product management.
- Capable of conducting product demos and coordinating product acceptance sign-offs.
- Background in software engineering or product management.
Education:
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced certifications or experience in agile methodologies and project management.
