Role Description The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments to support enterprise applications and databases. This on-site role in Chesterfield, MO involves deploying and configuring OCI resources, managing networking, security, and identity, and ensuring high availability and performance of mission-critical systems. The engineer will collaborate with application, DBA, and security teams to plan migrations from on-premises Oracle environments to OCI, perform capacity planning, and optimize cloud resource usage. Daily responsibilities include monitoring cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting incidents, applying best practices for backup and disaster recovery, and documenting architectures and configurations. The role also includes contributing to automation scripts and templates, supporting upgrades and patching, and participating in architectural reviews to enhance reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) skills, including design, deployment, configuration, and management of compute, storage, networking, and security services.
- Experience with Oracle technologies such as Oracle Databases, Oracle E-Business Suite, and related middleware, including installation, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Proficiency in cloud networking concepts (VCNs, subnets, load balancers, VPN, DNS, firewalls) and identity and access management (IAM, roles, policies, and least-privilege security practices).
- Ability to use scripting and automation tools (such as Terraform, OCI-CLI, Python, Bash, or similar) to standardize deployments and improve operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of Linux/UNIX administration, system monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting within complex, multi-tier application environments.
- Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies for enterprise workloads, including clustering, replication, and backup architectures.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating business and functional requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
