Role Summary
We're seeking a skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Marine DevOps team. DevOps is a development-oriented approach, and you will implement and maintain a DevOps platform that supports development teams for our products. We are passionate about automating routines, infrastructure, and the whole software development lifecycle. Day-to-day, you will engage directly with internal customers, like Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and numerous other teams, to better optimize their workflows through automation and well-designed systems. You will be involved in migrating applications to containers, deploying them in public clouds (AWS, Azure), deploying and promoting new services for internal clients, and automating every single part of those applications. Observability and security are also priorities.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) using infrastructure as code (Terraform, OpenTofu).
- Build and maintain CI pipelines for automated builds and tests.
- Develop and improve deployment pipelines, which include QA/Dev environments and support the same for different product units across Kaleris.
- Drive platform modernization, self-service capabilities, and automate processes using GitOps approaches and scripting.
- Lead containerization and orchestration initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Development, and Quality Engineering teams to improve products and the delivery process.
- Mentor Junior DevOps Engineers and promote DevOps best practices across teams.
- Maintain operational runbooks, documentation and disaster recovery plans.
- Drive observability initiatives using logging, metrics and tracing tools (e.g., Sumo Logic).
- Leverage Kaleris managed security tools (e.g., Wiz & Vanta to enforce security best practices across internal and production environments.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience, 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or similar roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure).
- Demonstrated experience in architecting, managing, and operating complex applications deployed in AWS or Azure.
- Experience in IaC Tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, Packer, Ansible).
- Extensive knowledge in creating and managing CI/CD/GitOps Pipelines (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Spacelift, etc.).
- Skilled in Linux and Windows server maintenance and proficient in scripting & automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Strong experience with container tooling and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes).
- Proven experience managing production Kubernetes environments.
- Familiarity with cloud security guidelines and best practices on public clouds.
- Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Sumo Logic, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and support distributed systems on a global scale

- Adaptable and curious about AI-assisted tooling — actively uses tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude to work more effectively and stays current as the ecosystem evolves.
