P2D Lead DevOps
About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in people management, leadership, and persuasion, along with extensive expertise in cloud infrastructure security, cloud infrastructure configuration automation, and related technologies. As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will oversee and coordinate DevOps activities across multiple development projects, ensuring smooth integration, continuous improvement, and efficient delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Coordinate and oversee DevOps activities across multiple development projects, ensuring effective communication, integration, and alignment of practices.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions, with a focus on security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain robust automation pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and system administrators, to streamline development and deployment workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability of infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and security domains, and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a Lead DevOps role
- Strong background in people management, leadership, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure security best practices, including secure network architectures, identity and access management, and data protection
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with hands-on experience in architecting and managing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
- Strong automation skills using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for configuration management and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex systems and infrastructure challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
