Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS, Terraform, and security solutions, including Palo Alto. The successful candidate will also be proficient with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment pipelines. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure for MedQuest.
Responsibilities
- WS Cloud Architecture: Manage MedQuest’s AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and VPC, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimization with Terraform.
- Design and Deployment: Design and deploy cloud-based solutions aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, ensuring best practices in scalability, security, and performance.
- Resource Provisioning: Provision and manage AWS cloud resources, including virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking components, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use Terraform to automate and provision cloud infrastructure, ensuring consistency across multiple AWS regions.
- Cloud Security: Manage AWS security best practices, including access controls and compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and HIPAA HIGH TRUST. Utilize Palo Alto security tools (e.g., VM-Series firewalls, Prisma Cloud) to enhance cloud security.
- Azure DevOps: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment of cloud-based applications.
- Cloud Monitoring & Optimization: Use AWS CloudWatch, AWS Cost Explorer, and third-party monitoring tools to monitor and optimize cloud performance, ensuring cost-efficient use of resources.
- Automation & Orchestration: Develop and maintain Terraform scripts to streamline cloud resource provisioning, scaling, and maintenance. Integrate IaC with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
- Disaster Recovery: Design and implement disaster recovery strategies for AWS-based environments, ensuring data integrity and continuity in the event of a system failure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to integrate cloud infrastructure into the application development lifecycle.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and detailed documentation for all cloud architecture, security policies, infrastructure changes, and disaster recovery plans.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and optimize AWS cloud services and Azure DevOps pipelines for high availability and performance.
Qualifications
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Technical Expertise
- 7 years of hands-on experience managing and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Terraform and Azure DevOps for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking (VPC, subnets, firewalls, VPNs) and system administration, including advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud security, particularly AWS best practices and Palo Alto security tools (e.g., VM-Series firewalls, Prisma Cloud).
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in cloud environments.
- Certifications preferred: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Engineer, AWS Network Engineer, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Terraform Associate.
- Experience managing DevOps projects, including project planning and execution.
- Strong knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
