Description
We are in search of a DevOps Engineer to join our team in MECHANICSBURG, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be expected to work closely with both development and operational teams, bridging the gap between the two to ensure efficient and effective delivery of our services. This role is a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable, high performance data storage and retrieval systems using cloud technologies.
- Work extensively with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Utilize cloud computing solutions with AWS, including cloud networking concepts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network problems to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement agile methodologies to plan and track work efforts.
- Showcase a comprehensive understanding of a broad range of computing technologies.
- Collaborate closely with the team to understand functional and technical specifications for new products.
- Contribute to software development when necessary.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Use CI/CD tools like GitLab, understanding version control and git workflows.
- Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
- Proficient in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Strong experience with DevOps practices and principles
- Skilled in utilizing Docker for containerization and virtualization
- Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS)
- Proficient in managing Kubernetes clusters
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
