Position Summary
Continuing its role as a digital leader in media, the Digital Product Development team will develop and deliver a number of strategic digital product initiatives for the NBA. We are looking for an experienced DevOps (Development and Operations) professional to join our growing organization. In this position, you will manage infrastructure projects and processes. Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid knowledge base are essential.
Major Responsibilities
- Work as a point of contact for new projects and initiatives, while providing technical advice and architectural guidance.
- Constantly strive to improve our cloud infrastructure to keep the NBA on the leading edge of reliability and performance.
- Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
- Build and maintain the tools needed to follow a GitOps approach to application deployment
- Handle code deployments in all environments, monitor metrics, and develop ways to improve
- Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on DevOps processes
- Brainstorm for new insights and ways to improve development delivery and infrastructure architecture
- Consult with peers for feedback on how best to meet the needs of the development teams
- Build, maintain, and monitor applications in an agile environment
- Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects
- Manage existing CI and CD tools, while also continuing to evaluate if those tools still fit the needs of the NBA.
- Document and craft various processes; update existing processes
- Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company
Required Education/Professional Experience
- BS in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years experience in DevOps, or related IT, computer, or operations field
- 2+ years experience with Kubernetes, EKS, or AKS at enterprise scale
- Experience running Kubernetes in a high availability setup with 3 nines of availability a plus
- The ability to understand how individual projects fit into the company’s direction
- Experience with a supporting a high traffic platform a plus
- Experience with supporting streaming media platforms a plus
- Cloud optimization experience a plus.
- 2+ years experience with one or multiple cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.) services and technologies
- 2+ years experience with configuration management / tools such as terraform
- Experience with Scrum/Kanban/SAFe/Agile workflow methodologies
- 2+ years experience with version control systems such as Bitbucket or Github
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes
- Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends clearly and confidently
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Expert level knowledge of DevOps best practices and trends in the areas of source code management, CI/CD, Cloud, Automation, etc., with the ability to guide others in their usage
Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000
