OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.
Your Impact
The OpenText UFT Family of integrated functional testing solutions enables customers to test earlier and faster by delivering AI-driven test automation across an unparalleled range of technologies; on the most popular browsers, mobile devices, operating systems, and form-factors; from the cloud or on-premises; to deliver the speed and resiliency required to achieve automation at scale that is tightly integrated with an organization’s current ADM/DevOps toolchain.
What The Role Offers
As an Engineering Manager, you won’t just oversee projects—you’ll shape the way we build, deliver, and grow. You’re one who can balance technical depth, leadership, and a
bias for action—someone who thrives in a fast-paced product environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
- Drive the technical execution - ensuring software is designed, coded, tested, and deployed with best practices in mind.
- Break down silos by facilitating communication across teams, aligning stakeholders, and keeping priorities clear.
- Take ownership of engineering deliverables, including managing P&L for the product line.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh perspectives and strategic insights to keep us competitive.
- Ensure customer satisfaction during project delivery - because great products aren’t just built, they’re experienced.
What you will need to succeed
Role
We’re looking for someone who can lead with confidence, adapt to challenges, and champion both people and products. To thrive in this role, you should bring:
- Proven leadership experience – managing teams, delivering projects, and balancing customer needs with product evolution.
- Strong background in desktop applications - ideally for enterprise customers. Bonus points if you've navigated the quirks of on-prem software.
- The ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams - Product, Customer Support, and beyond - without getting lost in the chaos.
- A knack for managing customer tickets alongside feature development, all while keeping technical debt under control.
- A natural tendency to advocate for the product - driving internal adoption and influencing stakeholders rather than waiting for permission
- A solid technical foundation in C# or C++ (we also use Java, Python, and others, but these are the core). You won’t be writing code daily, but you should know enough to guide the team effectively.
