Opportunities like this don't come by often. We are seeking an ambitious DevOps Engineer to join us as a founding team member in Bangalore. You will be a core member of our Bangalore based R&D hub, working with Platform Engineers, Software Engineers and Data Engineers in both Bangalore and Europe. You will report directly to the Engineering Team Lead in Bangalore.
DevOps Engineers at OutThink are responsible for the delivery of automation and cloud infrastructure, supporting Software Engineers with deployments, and tasked with realising a leading-edge business-critical 24x7 SaaS platform. You will be exposed to some of the latest in cloud technologies, Machine Learning & AI (MLOps), Networking and Kubernetes.
What you'll do
- Design, implement and manage source control, including GitHub.
- Configure and implement build and release pipelines (CI/CD) with Azure DevOps.
- Help manage cost, security, reliability, operational excellence, and performance plans.
- Manage and monitor our Azure Kubernetes Service Deployment, including Istio.
- Build infrastructure scripts and automation with Terraform, Ansible and Packer.
- Support the rollout of new initiatives and platform features.
- Take part in activities relating to the Agile process; planning, stand-up, grooming, estimation, and retrospectives, promoting transparency and collaboration.
- Help to support the platform, assisting with issue identification and resolution.

- We’ll also look to you to bring the following to the table:
- Commercial experience in a DevOps or similar role, preferably using the Microsoft Azure cloud. Cross-training to Azure from AWS or Google Cloud will be considered for the right candidate.
- DevOps Tooling skillset, incorporating Terraform, Ansible and Packer.
- Previous experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, in particular Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), using a Service Mesh such as Istio.
- Exposure to Agile Development Methodology, working with development teams operating rapid sprint cycles.
- Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment technologies and the approach e.g., Azure DevOps Services and TeamCity.
- Full understanding and use of Containerization Technology (Docker, Kubernetes, Nginx).
- Use of cloud-based container registries, such as Azure Container Registry or AWS Elastic Container Registry (ECR).
- A solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, authentication, and risk management.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A positive and proactive attitude with strong initiative, team-working skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate in English in all forms.
- Ability to learn new processes and concepts fast with a demonstrated sense of curiosity.
- Intrinsic drive and motivation to build a ‘world first’ and share our start-up vision.
Desirable Skills
- Advanced cloud networking and protocols knowledge.
- Training or certifications in Microsoft Azure, such as DevOps Engineer Expert.
- Any DevOps experience with the AWS or Google cloud.
- Experience working for a digital SaaS platform, or ISV.
- Previous experience working in a cybersecurity company, or in a cyber-related field.
