Title: Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer

As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer you will support our client's mission, to improve customer experience, security, and operations for the world's most valuable retail, by managing cloud infrastructure and enabling the development of our cloud-native, scalable B2B software solutions.
Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure primarily using Microsoft Azure, with aspects of infrastructure in Google Cloud. You will be responsible for the management of cloud assets, with specific attention paid to secure deployment and configuration practices, orchestration for monitoring and alerting on key system components, and the scaling of our services in response to variable demand.
In this role you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that team members rely upon. While understanding how to navigate within the Azure and GCP toolsets is essential for this role, candidates should have experience in management, automation, and configuration via code and in maintaining that code via GitHub source control.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud technologies, scripting skills in Python or Bash, and a strong understanding of Agile methodologies. Additionally, while not expected to be a security expert, the ideal candidate will be security minded and be aware of DevOps patterns, practices, and configurations that follow recommended guidelines and best practices.
The ideal candidate for this role will use their knowledge with database, container, and web/application servers to provide guidance and direction from a performance, scalability, and capacity management standpoint.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Developing and implementing automated deployment and configuration processes using tools like Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep
• Managing cloud infrastructure using Azure and GCP
• Strong understanding of containerization, including use of Docker, and Container Apps in Azure. Knowledge of Kubernetes a plus.
• Monitoring and logging systems using tools like ELK Stack, Grafana and Nagios
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborating cross-functionally with development and operations teams to ensure the smooth delivery of software applications and services
• Troubleshooting production issues and providing support to other teams
• Evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve software delivery processes
• Ensuring security and compliance of technology stack, applications and infrastructure
TECHNOLOGY STACK

• Frontend development: React, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Server-side development: Node.js, Express, Go as Docker containers
• Database: PostgreSQL, Redis
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of Cloud DevOps experience preferably in a SaaS environment
• Software development experience a plus
• Architecture and system design for cloud-based SaaS solutions
• Have a strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, scripting skills in Python, Perl or Bash, containerization technologies like Docker
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Have a passion for staying current with new technologies and trends and be proactive in seeking out opportunities to learn new skills
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to think creatively to find solutions to challenging problems
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Action and Azure devops.
• Be familiar with the concepts of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment
• Knowledgeable about security and compliance, and should understand the importance of protecting sensitive data and applications
• Have experience implementing security and compliance measures in their work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, operate gracefully under stress and handle multiple assignments in parallel
