We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. In this hybrid role, you’ll be responsible not only for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Helio’s AI-driven platform but also for leading key aspects of our security operations. You’ll help drive secure development practices, complete vendor and customer security assessments, and provide first-line support for infrastructure and security-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
DevOps Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure on AWS (or other cloud platforms)
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and release cycles
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
- Manage container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- Automate infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Collaborate with software engineers to optimize builds, deployments, and test automation
Security Operations Responsibilities:
- Support and manage day-to-day cloud security operations and infrastructure compliance
- Conduct internal security reviews, vendor assessments, and third-party risk assessments
- Coordinate responses to customer security questionnaires and due diligence requests
- Maintain and update security documentation and policies in alignment with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR)
- Monitor for vulnerabilities, coordinate patching and incident response as needed
- Provide first-line technical support for infrastructure and security-related customer inquiries
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Security Engineering role
- Experience with AWS (RDS, EC2, EKS, IAM, etc)
- Experience with Docker container orchestration and Kubernetes management
- Familiarity with DevSecOps best practices and cloud security principles
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, GitHub Actions)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset
- Strong understanding of system and network security fundamentals
- Ability to manage and complete technical documentation and security questionnaires
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a regulated industry (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
- Experience with Azure Portal, Teams Admin
- Hands on experience with PostgreSQL use and management
- Familiarity with identity management and access control tools (e.g., Okta, AWS IAM)
- Previous support or help desk experience with technical clients
- Background in healthcare or life sciences a plus
