JOB SUMMARY
The Cloud Engineer position is within Prolink's Information Technology department and partners with key stakeholders to provide strategic guidance on the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based systems for businesses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Ensure the continuous, secure, and reliable delivery of Azure compute, network, directory, database(s), and Fabric services
● Manage and maintain the cloud infrastructure supporting Power BI (Microsoft Fabric) and Prolink’s Data Factory
● Apply FinOps principles to optimize and forecast compute expenses by collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders
● Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment challenges
● Ensure efficient operation of data storage and processing systems in compliance with company security policies and best practice standards
● Partner with engineering and development teams to assess and implement optimal cloud solutions
● Improve and optimize existing cloud systems
● Ensure all cloud implementations adhere to industry standards and best practices, especially in cloud security
● Conduct regular reviews of current systems and provide recommendations for enhancements
● Interact with clients to deliver cloud support and advise on solutions tailored to their needs
● Develop a comprehensive cloud strategy and educate internal teams on the adoption and integration
● Continuously evaluate and optimize cloud-based applications, infrastructure, and services
● Design and maintain secure, organized, modular and scalable cloud systems to support enterprise-wide operations
● Collaborate closely with IT security to ensure data privacy and compliance in cloud environments
● Respond promptly and professionally to technical issues as they arise
● Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud
● Recommend and implement top cloud architecture solutions to align with the company’s strategic goals
● Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree or certification(s) in computer science, information technology, or a related field
● 3+ years of experience in a related field
● 5+ years of experience in cloud computing
● Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory and Power BI)
● Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, collaboration, and client management skills
● Experience with CI/CD systems
● Experience with SysOps
● Understanding of basic network and security concepts
● Understanding of DNS, and domain record management
● Able to be flexible and adaptable to meet right deadlines, deliver results, and quickly pivot based on shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environment
● Able to use a variety of business or technical programs to complete tasks
● High level of integrity, motivation, accountability, and perseverance in accordance with Prolink's values
PREFERENCES
● Experience in the staffing or talent solutions industry
● Experience in traditional infrastructure operations
● Experience in FinOps
● Certifications in Azure, AWS, and GCP
