We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Engineer to join our team. As a System Engineer, you will deliver the highest-level support while simultaneously tackling client projects related to both Service Delivery and/or Professional Services.
This role involves working on various technologies, troubleshooting issues, and proactively managing environments to ensure optimal system performance. You will play a key role in maintaining our clients' IT systems' reliability, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and manage client systems, including servers, workstations, networks, and cloud environments.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide Tier 3 technical support for clients, resolving escalated tickets related to hardware, software, and network issues within defined SLAs.
- Implement and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs, ensuring secure network configurations for clients.
- Advanced design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Remote Desktop Services, Azure, Office 365, etc.
- Be a technical escalation resource for clients.
- Mentor team members.
- Take ownership of the IT Infrastructure for assigned clients.
- Clearly communicate with clients verbally and in writing.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, including patch management, antivirus updates, and monitoring for potential vulnerabilities.
- Manage backup systems and disaster recovery plans to protect client data and ensure quick restoration.
- Work closely with clients to understand their IT needs, provide guidance, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Be available for scheduled on-call after-hours support and occasional on-site support for customers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Engineer, or in a similar role, ideally within an MSP environment.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices (multi-factor authentication, patch management, endpoint protection).
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
