Vernovis is looking for a Cloud Engineer who will serve as a point of contact for Cloud/infrastructure-related projects, questions and issues. You will participate in the design and administration of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions working alongside Cloud Architects and other teams (e.g., Web, Database, Storage, Networking, IAM, Information Security) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are presented. You will support multiple deployment models including manual, scripted, DevOps, CI/CD/IaC methodologies, and work with Information Security to ensure that the proposed infrastructure solution complies with our clients Cloud security standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors new developments in emerging Cloud technology trends. Identifies new products with potential benefit to W&SFG and conducts in-depth research and analysis of these products.
- Demonstrates the applicability of tools in real-world applications. Investigates their use in W&SFG and recommends adoption of new technologies/methodologies when appropriate.
- Provides “swat team” style support to development projects by resolving complex problems.
- Ensure projects remain on track with aggressive schedules.
- Engages in the SDLC of new systems and technologies and/or major system improvements. Frequently handles or directs projects, from research to implementation.
- Ensures the feasibility of proposed projects and evaluates new software packages in terms of cost, resources, system capability, and other attributes.
- Engages with vendors and third parties to support platforms and implement improvements.
- Ensure SLA commitments both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional IT experience including two years of Cloud support experience.
- Solid infrastructure background, strong understanding of technologies such as server provisioning, Active Directory, DNS, etc., as well as Cloud infrastructure/services and delivery models.
- Microsoft Azure Certifications Upon Hire (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, or information technology or commensurate selection criteria experience.
- Demonstrated experience setting goals and successfully implementing and achieving goals, seeking to improve business and technical processes.
- Demonstrated experience effectively handling customers and providing excellent service.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team, motivating co-workers in difficult situations.
- Good communication skills with experience in customer support.
- Solid technical experience in infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to function on application and technical projects with little or no supervision.
- Demonstrated adaptability when required to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
- Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective solutions. Good decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives.
- Must provide examples of working under multiple deadlines and minimal supervision. Successfully organizing and effectively completing projects where given little or no direction.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner.
