System Engineer – Hybrid | Atlanta, GA

We are looking for a System Engineer who thrives in a hybrid work environment and has a solid foundation in infrastructure, server management, and cloud technologies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across platforms and taking ownership of IT systems critical to business operations.
Role Overview
As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and support of our server and virtualization infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with IT, DevOps, and InfoSec teams to ensure system stability, performance, and scalability, while maintaining high availability across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers across hybrid environments.
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) including resource allocation, storage, and performance tuning.
- Handle user administration, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
- Assist in migration and integration of services into cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS).
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks and system configurations.
- Participate in security patching, disaster recovery planning, and system backup strategies.
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support and escalate complex issues when required.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure and system processes.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V).
- Proficient with PowerShell and/or other scripting tools for task automation.
- Experience working in a hybrid or cloud environment (Azure, AWS).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
