Job Summary
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing management of cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. This role requires both technical depth and collaborative skills, working closely with development, DevOps, security, and operations teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to building secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage complex cloud infrastructure solutions in AWS and Azure.
- Develop and implement cloud strategies that balance performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct architecture reviews to ensure alignment with industry best practices and business goals.
- Collaborate with Development, DevOps, and Security teams to optimize performance and enhance security.
- Act as a primary escalation point for cloud system support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and monitor cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, InfoSec).
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, recommending new tools and approaches as appropriate.
- Create and maintain documentation, including MOPs, cost estimates, and deployment plans.
- Adhere to HIPAA standards by limiting access to PHI and ensuring compliance with all security and privacy policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Proven expertise with services such as Application Gateway, Containers, Kubernetes, S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, and related tools.
- Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, and automation scripting (Python, Ansible).
- Experience with DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts: VPC, DNS, VPN, NAT, VNet/subnet management, CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, VPC Endpoints, ECS, and various database/cache services.
- Knowledge of cloud security, governance, IAM policy management, and compliance.
- Familiarity with SaaS transformation, microservices architecture, and well-architected frameworks (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with tools such as Confluence, Jira.
- Relevant certifications (AWS and/or Azure, ideally DevOps Associate or Professional).
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ownership mentality with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
