Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Manager to own the scalability, security, and reliability of our SaaS platform. This role will be responsible for designing world-class infrastructure, implementing cutting-edge automation practices, leading cybersecurity initiatives, and managing a large-scale sharded database environment. You will also mentor and grow a small team of DevOps engineers, driving best practices across infrastructure, CI/CD, and incident management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure for our SaaS platform.
- Manage and monitor cloud resources (AWS/GCP), ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of raw networking, including protocols, routing, firewalls, and subnets, beyond what is managed by cloud providers.
- Expertise in configuring and managing iptables is a must for network security.
Cyber Security:
- Integrate security best practices throughout the development and deployment pipelines.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Implement and manage security tools and systems (e.g., IDS/IPS, WAF, SIEM).
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents as needed.
Database Management:
- Oversee the management and performance tuning of our sharded database systems.
- Proven experience managing a sharded databases around 300 TB is a prerequisite.
- Ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery processes are robust and reliable.
Containerization & Orchestration:
- Lead the management and optimization of our Kubernetes clusters.
- Design and implement containerized deployment strategies.
- Ensure high availability and resilience of containerized applications.
Automation & CI/CD:
- Develop and maintain robust and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Implement a "you build it, you run it" culture within the engineering team.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a small team of DevOps engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Lead the on-call rotation and incident response efforts.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience managing a small team.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Expert-level knowledge of raw networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, and specifically, iptables.
- Demonstrable experience managing a sharded database of over 500 TB.
- Strong background in cyber security, including threat modeling and incident response.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash/Python/Go).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
