Overview
We’re seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes to join a high-impact client engagement. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in modern cloud-native, security-driven environments and enjoys hands-on problem-solving, automation, and scalability challenges.
This position requires 3 days onsite in Chicago each week — travel expenses are covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize complex Kubernetes environments, including Helm chart troubleshooting and deployment automation.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines — ideally leveraging Harness or similar tools.
- Champion DevSecOps best practices, integrating security seamlessly into development and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Engage in long-term client initiatives, with opportunities for extension beyond the initial term.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise with Kubernetes and Helm chart troubleshooting.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline automation (Harness experience preferred).
- Solid background in DevSecOps, emphasizing cloud security integration.
- Deep proficiency in AWS cloud environments (❌ No Azure or on-premises experience required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Argo CD or similar deployment tools.
- Prior consulting or client-facing project experience.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and collaborate across vendors and teams.
Not a Fit If You’re Focused On
- Traditional platform engineering (e.g., landing zones, EC2/compute, IAM, networking, FinOps).
- Azure or on-premises infrastructures — this is a 100% AWS-based role.
