Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Jira Administrator / Developer – Lead to spearhead our enterprise-level Jira ecosystem in the Bangalore office.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Jira administration, development, integrations, and automation, along with proven experience in leading Jira strategy, governance, and optimization across multiple teams and business units.
This role goes beyond configuration — it requires a visionary who can architect scalable solutions, standardize Jira best practices, and enable seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines and business tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership & Strategy: Lead the end-to-end administration, configuration, and governance of Jira across the organization, ensuring alignment with project management, DevOps, and business objectives.
- Architecture & Design: Architect scalable Jira and Confluence solutions — including custom workflows, field configurations, permission schemes, and cross-project automation.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior administrators/developers; establish Jira development standards, documentation, and automation frameworks.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop custom automation scripts and solutions using ScriptRunner, Jira REST APIs, and Automation for Jira to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Integration & CI/CD: Implement and maintain integrations with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, Bamboo), ServiceNow, Slack, and other enterprise systems.
- Performance & Security: Monitor system performance, perform periodic audits, manage backups, and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with engineering, DevOps, and PMO teams to translate business processes into optimized Jira solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Atlassian releases, evaluate new apps/add-ons, and recommend enhancements to improve productivity.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 8–10+ years of experience in Jira Administration and Development, with at least 3+ years in a lead or senior role.
- Expertise: Strong proficiency in Jira configuration (workflows, schemes, fields, permissions, and screens).
- Automation & Scripting: Advanced knowledge of ScriptRunner, Jira REST API, Automation for Jira, and Groovy/Python scripting.
- Integrations: Proven experience integrating Jira with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and other enterprise applications.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead Jira initiatives, define governance standards, and support large multi-project environments.
- Atlassian Ecosystem: Experience with Confluence, Jira Service Management, and popular add-ons.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Certifications (Preferred): Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator / Atlassian Certified Expert.
