Your Impact
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of the Wave platform.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Product, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Service Delivery, and STA, you will troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and enhance platform efficiency. You will have an opportunities to develop new skills, receive exceptional training, and grow through coaching and mentoring in a high-performance environment.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining system performance, managing incidents, and driving automation to streamline processes and improve efficiency. You will design and maintain monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch, analyze data to provide insights, and ensure compliance with security and operational standards. Additionally, you will support client calls on technical topics, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and provide mentorship to team members. With a focus on reliability, proactive problem-solving, and attention to detail, you will help drive operational excellence and support McKinsey’s mission of delivering impact at scale.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- 3–6 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective solutions
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, and CloudWatch
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and data analysis
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS and its services
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Knowledge of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Understanding of security principles and best practices in operational environments
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems, particularly GitHub (e.g., repositories, pull requests). Experience with Jenkins or Concourse is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and a willingness to continuously learn and improve
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
