Job Summary
The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms to meet evolving business needs. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Azure, exposure to GCP, and readiness to support a multi-cloud strategy with AWS planned for future adoption.
The engineer will provide advanced production support, build automation and self-service capabilities, and collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure reliable cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy cloud infrastructure and platforms to support business requirements.
- Provide advanced technical support for cloud production environments and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple cloud platforms and integrated systems.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements to optimize uptime and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical standards, best practices, and documentation.
- Build and enhance self-service automation platforms and workflows.
- Elevate code through development, test, and production environments using CI/CD pipelines.
- Submit and manage change control requests; provide post-deployment production support.
- Perform system analysis, requirements definition, and logical design.
- Evaluate and test IT vendor products and cloud services.
- Train and mentor junior engineers; resolve escalated technical issues.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- 6+ years of experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Strong operational knowledge of Azure core services, including:
- ARM / Bicep
- Azure Functions
- Blob Storage
- Virtual Networks
- AKS
- VM Scale Sets
- Azure AD
- Key Vault
- Experience with alerting and monitoring tools such as:
- Azure Monitor
- Application Insights
- Splunk
- Grafana
- Experience building self-service automation platforms using:
- ServiceNow
- Python
- Azure Automation
- Logic Apps
- Strong scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI
- Experience with CI/CD platforms:
- GitHub Actions (preferred)
- Azure DevOps (acceptable)
- Strong troubleshooting skills for break/fix and production support scenarios
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
