Skills & Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and operating production Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, autoscaling, networking, storage, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of containerization (Docker/containerd) and Kubernetes internals (CNI, CSI, ingress, scheduling).
- Solid Linux system administration skills with experience in performance tuning and debugging using standard Linux tools.
- Strong fundamentals in Linux networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, subnetting, firewalls, proxies, load balancing).
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management using Ansible.
- Experience building and operating monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK/EFK.
- Experience managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB in production, including availability, backups, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of web servers and reverse proxies such as Nginx, HAProxy, or Apache.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) to automate operational tasks.
- Working knowledge of Golang and Kubernetes/Linux certifications are a plus.
Years Of Experience
- 3 to 7 years professional experience
- Must have worked in an organization where they have full hands-on experience in Kubernetes & Linux and at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP etc)
What Success Looks Like (First 6-9 Months)
- You take full ownership of Kubernetes and Linux environments, confidently handling deployments, upgrades, incidents, and performance issues.
- CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure become more reliable, automated, and predictable under your ownership.
- Monitoring dashboards and alerts provide clear visibility into system health and risks, reducing blind spots and mean time to resolution.
- You proactively identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks, improving platform stability and developer productivity.
- You collaborate closely with engineering and security teams to ship features faster without compromising reliability or security.
