Job Title: Cloud Operations Manager (Product Engineering - CloudOps)
Role Overview
The Cloud Operations Manager for Product Engineering will lead a global Cloud & DevOps team responsible for engineering, implementing, and operating cloud-based technology across a hybrid and multi-cloud enterprise environment. This role partners with engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable cloud platforms through Agile practices and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a distributed Cloud Operations/DevOps team, overseeing developers and operations engineers and managing a follow-the-sun model.
- Plan and manage work for the DevOps team during Agile/Scrum planning cycles; align objectives and roadmaps with Agile planning.
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, primarily AWS.
- Ensure platform quality and performance via automated functional and performance testing and integrated deployment frameworks.
- Monitor cloud service health and consumption, detect and investigate anomalies or unplanned spikes, and escalate as needed.
- Develop and maintain capacity forecasts, track toolset utilization, and proactively manage service capacity and performance.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tooling to improve capabilities, drive innovation, and support business needs.
- Maintain technical relevance as a hands-on technical manager and ensure documentation of technical requirements and operational runbooks.
- Manage departmental budgets and forecasts within acceptable variances.
- Provide training, mentorship, and regular performance touchpoints to team members; foster a results-oriented, curious, and collaborative culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 9 years of professional IT/Cloud engineering experience overall, including at least 3 years of hands-on cloud administration and at least 2 years managing Cloud Operations or DevOps teams (people-manager or team lead roles).
- Bachelor's degree in a technology field required.
- Technical certifications preferred: public cloud certifications (e.g., AWS) and DevOps/tooling certifications.
- Proven experience designing DevOps pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and working in Scrum/Agile environments.
- Strong communication skills and experience consulting with business and functional stakeholders.
- Basic data querying/organization skills and familiarity with cloud security considerations.

- Tools commonly used: Terraform, Jenkins, and other CI/CD/monitoring solutions.
- Experience in cloud cost management, incident management, and performance testing is a plus.
- Experience mentoring and coaching small to medium-sized teams.
