DevOps Lead – Digital Health & Connected Experience

Role Overview
A global consumer health organization is seeking a DevOps Lead to support its Digital Health & Connected Experience platform.
This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure that supports mobile health applications and connected device ecosystems. The DevOps Lead will drive automation, cloud optimization, and DevOps best practices across the software development lifecycle while enabling reliable, high-performance backend services.
You will collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to design robust microservices architectures, optimize cloud environments, and ensure smooth deployments with high system uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and container orchestration.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using microservices architecture.
- Integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle in collaboration with development teams.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure high availability and reliability through monitoring, logging, and fault-tolerance strategies.
- Implement and maintain secure networking, firewalls, and access controls.
- Develop and maintain backend APIs, integrate databases, and optimize messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Automate testing, deployment, and rollback processes to support zero-downtime releases.
- Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and drive continuous operational improvements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps or backend engineering with strong DevOps exposure.
- Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Java for backend development.
- Experience building and maintaining microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Knowledge of network infrastructure and security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical guidance.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with cloud security practices and compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, caching strategies, and performance tuning.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
