Role Overview
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to support the infrastructure behind a high‑availability sports betting market‑making platform. This role is critical to ensuring our pricing, risk, and trading systems run reliably during live sporting events, where performance, uptime, and rapid response are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation & Reliability: Develop scripts and internal tooling to automate operational workflows and reduce manual intervention across production systems.
- Deployment & Release Pipelines: Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, safe deployments for services supporting real‑time betting and pricing.
- Infrastructure as Code: Provision and manage cloud and on‑premise infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and auditability.
- Collaboration with Trading & Engineering: Work closely with quantitative developers, traders, and platform engineers to remove operational bottlenecks and support latency‑sensitive systems.
- Observability & Monitoring: Design and enhance monitoring, alerting, and dashboards that provide clear visibility into system health during both peak betting windows and off‑hours.
- Live Operations Support: Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly during live markets, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and financial risk.
- Data & Database Support: Assist with the operation and performance of SQL‑based data stores used for pricing, risk, and reporting, including access controls and optimization.
- Additional Duties: Contribute to broader operational initiatives as required in a fast‑moving trading environment.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role supporting production‑critical systems
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
- Python experience for automation, tooling, and operational scripting
- Hands‑on experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and data reliability concerns
- Experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, especially during live sporting events
- Openness to working non-traditional hours that cover live sporting events in the weekends and evenings as needed.
