We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate has strong programming fundamentals, deep experience with cloud-native technologies, and a passion for automation, scalability, and operational excellence. You will play a key role in designing CI/CD systems, improving reliability, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automation tools for application builds, deployments, testing frameworks, security controls, and monitoring systems.
Build, enhance, and support deployment processes for highly available, multi‑tier applications across development, staging, and production environments.
Serve as a technical liaison between
Engineering, QA, IT Security, and Operations to ensure seamless and secure delivery workflows.
- AWS & Kubernetes Expertise
Deploy, scale, and manage production workloads on
AWS and operate Kubernetes clusters at scale, including configuration, reliability, and performance tuning.
- Process & Tooling Improvements
Identify opportunities to optimize deployment efficiency, improve automation, and streamline release processes; advocate for modern DevOps best practices and tooling.
- Build & Compilation Issue Resolution
Troubleshoot and resolve build failures, compilation issues, and environment inconsistencies across multiple applications or services.
- Ownership & Problem Solving
Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong follow‑through, root‑cause analysis skills, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in one or more DevOps programming/scripting languages:
Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, Bash/Shell, PowerShell
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, IAM, S3, Lambda, etc.)
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications (Docker)
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, ArgoCD, etc.)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)

The annual salary for this position is between
$49,001– $106,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
