Akkodis is seeking a
Cloud Engineer for a
Contract with a client in
Phoenix, AZ. You will design and support secure, scalable cloud solutions on GCP by resolving deployment challenges and optimizing cloud infrastructure.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Cloud Engineer Job Responsibilities Include
- Act as a technical consultant and subject matter expert, guiding engineering, sales, and customer teams through deployment challenges and cloud solution optimization.
- Design, build, and automate cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform with a strong focus on IaC, immutable environments, and operational excellence.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes/GKE clusters, containerized workloads, and service mesh traffic flows (e.g., Istio).
- Develop automation, backend services, and tooling using Python or Go to improve diagnostics, monitoring, and cloud platform reliability.
- Ensure secure, resilient cloud architecture by implementing GCP best practices across IAM, VPC, logging, security controls, compute, and storage.
- Monitor production systems, drive root‑cause analysis, and integrate observability tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, and OTEL for proactive issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 1–5+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, and production‑scale cloud operations.
- Strong proficiency with GCP services (IAM, VPC, Compute, Storage, Logging, Security Controls) and deep expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
- Solid hands‑on experience with Kubernetes/GKE, containerization (Docker), and programming in Python or Go for automation, tooling, and troubleshooting.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $47.00 per hour
