A rapidly growing technology solutions provider in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator / Senior Systems Engineer with strong Linux and AWS expertise. This role supports a diverse portfolio of small to mid‑sized clients, requiring someone who can work confidently across multiple environments with minimal separation between responsibilities. You’ll be deeply involved in cloud operations, server administration, networking, automation, and scripting.
This position is ideal for candidates coming from MSPs, startups, or smaller organizations where they’ve managed a wide variety of technologies and taken on broad technical ownership.
Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize AWS and Azure cloud environments supporting both Linux and Windows systems
- Troubleshoot issues across servers, networks, cloud workloads, and related systems
- Automate day‑to‑day operational tasks using Bash, Python, and PowerShell
- Perform patch management, configuration updates, and ongoing system maintenance
- Support deployment workflows and CI/CD pipeline operations
- Create and maintain documentation, including procedures and runbooks
- Participate in an on‑call rotation for escalated support issues
Key Requirements
- Strong hands‑on Linux administration experience (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, etc.)
- Proven track record managing production AWS environments
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Broad infrastructure knowledge spanning networking, cloud services, and systems administration
- Experience working within a multi‑client environment such as an MSP
- Ability to handle diverse technical responsibilities without narrow specialization
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and on‑call demands
