Job Title: Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer (AWS)

Job Description:
The Senior Software Configuration / Release Engineer will be responsible for automating and maintaining cloud infrastructure and configuration processes across AWS environments. This role ensures high availability, security, compliance, and governance through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated pipelines, and cloud best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of configuration management experience
- 7+ years of experience with AWS Code Suite (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline)
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
- Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- 7+ years of experience with backup, patching, and compliance automation
- 7+ years managing SSL/TLS certificates in cloud environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- AWS and/or Terraform certifications
- Experience working in government or public sector environments
- Experience with Agile tools and project delivery
- Knowledge of organizational change management (OCM)
- Experience with vendor coordination or oversight
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain configuration management standards, policies, and processes for AWS environments
- Build and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
- Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
- Manage multiple environments (Dev, Test, Stage, Prod) ensuring consistency and security
- Design and support CI/CD pipelines using AWS Code Suite (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline)
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployments, rollbacks, and release readiness
- Ensure smooth and reliable release processes across environments
- Design and maintain automated AWS backup strategies to ensure data integrity and compliance
- Implement automated patching workflows for infrastructure security
- Conduct audits on configurations, patching, backup integrity, and compliance standards
- Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle including installation, renewal, and rotation
